AVENTURA CATAMARANS

The French shipyard SGTI was founded in 2000 in La Rochelle (France) by the French yachting master Mr. Eric Roger, who has extensive experience in designing multi-hull boats and extensive personal experience in navigation. In 2007, the management of the shipyard, in order to optimize production costs, made a decision to transfer production to Tunisia – the former French colony is still largely focused on France.

About Aventura Shipyard

The French shipyard SGTI was founded in 2000 in La Rochelle (France) by the French yachting master Mr. Eric Roger, who has extensive experience in designing multi-hull boats and extensive personal experience in navigation. In 2007, the management of the shipyard, in order to optimize production costs, made a decision to transfer production to Tunisia – the former French colony is still largely focused on France.

Today, the shipyard has about 80 employees, has its own design department and cooperates with Lasta Design Studio, known for its designs for the Bali catamarans (Catana division). The total number of larger boats produced (from 34 feet and up) is a few dozen units per year with a very diverse geography of sales.

The French shipyard SGTI is a good example of family business (the son of Romain Roger is the production director), when the shipyard, small by industrial standards, has been successfully competing with global yachting brands for 17 years due to original design solutions and flexible financial policies.
